Write From The Heart Not From The Head
I came up with these words for my Instagram post today. I've been SO into Instagram lately. And as I thought about it, I realized that I got hooked when I started treating it like a microblog. It's a great strategy that's motivated me to post daily. Every day I share a daily quote of my own or inspired by something I've read, and offer some thoughts pertaining to the quote and/or the image/video that I've posted. Sometimes that's all is, but sometimes my post could be about something I'm personally dealing with or have experienced.
Writing is about feeling, feeling my way through the process, feeling if I’ve gotten what I’m writing “right,” if I’ve expressed what I want to say in the way I want to say it.
For me all writing is personal- to varying degrees. There is usually some personal truth to the things that I write- be it inspired by something I’ve experienced or imagined, or more literally a sort of retelling of a personal experience.
I believe that most writers do put a piece of themselves into all of their writing. Writing is a very personal form of expression. The writer chooses her words and their combination.
Courageous are the writers who choose to put their truth out there on the page.
